Mohammad Abdur

Mohammad was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014 before which he was an assistant professor of commercial and corporate law at East West University, Bangladesh and a practicing attorney in the Bangladesh bar since 1997. After Mohammad’s call to the Ontario bar, he has utilized his combined 25 years of legal experience to facilitate thousands of real estate transactions, successfully represent hundreds of clients at various levels of the court, negotiate/mediate settlements for multi-million dollar disputes, initiate and lead numerous mortgage foreclosures, with these being amongst many such other achievements.

Mohammad completed his LL.B and LL.M under the Faculty of Law of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his LL.M in International Commercial law under the School of Law at the University of Nottingham, UK. He then worked as an associate to the renowned Barrister M Amir-Ul Islam before going into teaching at East West University. In 2014, Mohammad completed his articling in Toronto at Lexpand Professional Corporation following which he founded Emerald Legal Professional Corporation in 2015. Since the firm’s inception, Mohammad and his dedicated ELPC team have garnered exceptional expertise in Real Estate law, Civil/Family Litigation, Mortgage Enforcement, Commercial Law, and Estate matters.

Mohammad is author of several academic articles on contemporary legal issues, the said articles being published in distinguished legal journals. In his leisure time, Mohammad likes to practice Indian Classical music (Khayal) and spend time with his wife and two kids.
